How to play Small Brave Pairs
Match actions that can make an unfamiliar task approachable. Turn over word cards and discover four matching pairs. This short memory round connects familiar words with a small reflection, using a shared arrangement for this challenge.
Your starting point
Match actions that can make an unfamiliar task approachable.
The rules
Turn over two cards at a time. Match all four identical word pairs. Remember where each word appeared and try again after a mismatch.
A helpful approach
Look at the positions as well as the words. After a mismatch, remember one useful location before choosing the next two cards. Keep the imagined action low stakes, and remember that asking for support can be part of the attempt.
After the game
Which word stayed with you after the cards were matched? What small question or first attempt would feel more possible with a little practical support from someone?
There is no need to turn a small moment into a perfect performance. Play again if you want to explore it, or leave it here and take the thought into your day.
The feeling behind it
Ask the question, begin the draft or admit you need help. Courage does not require danger, spectacle or pretending not to hesitate.
A practice of skill, mutual respect and historical resistance inspires learning courage; this game does not teach capoeira.
Read our courage story, inspired by Capoeira circle in Afro-Brazilian communities, Brazil. The UNESCO: Capoeira circle provides the source context.
