Your starting point

Pair words that mark a task you can genuinely put down.

The word palette: done · pause · ease · rest · clear · settle · unwind · space.

The rules

Turn over two cards at a time. Match all four identical word pairs. Remember where each word appeared and try again after a mismatch.

A helpful approach

Look at the positions as well as the words. After a mismatch, remember one useful location before choosing the next two cards. Keep one completed thing separate from the unfinished list, and allow a pause without claiming every problem has disappeared.

After the game

Which word stayed with you after the cards were matched? What is one thing you can honestly call finished today, even while other parts of the day remain open?

There is no need to turn a small moment into a perfect performance. Play again if you want to explore it, or leave it here and take the thought into your day.

The feeling behind it

A task is done, a question is answered or a pause finally arrives. Make room for the ordinary exhale after effort.

A social coffee-break custom inspires taking a pause; fika is not a Swedish translation of relief.

Read our relief story, inspired by Fika in Sweden. The Visit Sweden: Fika like a Swede provides the source context.
